News from CelAgrid

September 2004 The biomass gasifier, complete with gas engine and alternator,  arrives from India. This equipment was purchased with funds from MEKARN and forms the basis of the MSc research project of Miech Phalla. Various fibrous byproducts are being evaluated as fuel sources, with the aim of maximizing the use of forage trees and shrubs as combined sources of feed and energy.   
May 2004 Four students begin their research as part of their MSc activities in the MEKARN project funded by sidaSAREC  
March 2004 CelAgrid now fully operative with ongoing research with pigs and cattle supported by CARF (Cambodia Agricultural Research Fund) and MEKARN  
February 2003 Start of the construction of research facilities, a house for students and planting of forage crops mark the initiation of activities in the new Centre for Agricultural Research  and Training (CelAgrid)
