Our history

The Foundation for the Production of Sustainable Tropical Agriculture Chapter Colombia is an entity that was constituted in Colombia in 2003 with its main headquarters located in the Vereda Morario, UTA-TOSOLY ecological farm in the municipality of Guapota, Department of Santander.

The UTA Colombia is rooted in the University for Tropical Agriculture - UTA, which was founded in 1996 by a group of scientists with extensive experience worldwide in Sustainable Rural Development.

UTA is a group of people with conviction and with the intention to make changes in the traditional system of education and to put into practice the philosophy of "learning by doing" and "learning to live." UTA has a background in South East Asia in Vietnam and Cambodia where he has worked in research, training and rural development in sustainable agricultural production systems.
